These are the core essentials of what we profess and believe at The Bridge Church. In these beliefs we strive for unity in doctrine and practice of our faith.

We believe in God the Father Almighty. He is the creator, sustainer, and ruler of the universe. He is holy love which means He is both set apart from us as well as committed to us and present with us.

  • Exodus 20:1-11
  • Isaiah 6:1-8
  • Matthew 6:9-15

The Bible is God’s Word to all men. Human authors wrote it under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It was inspired by God, and thus, it is truth without any mixture of error.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1:13
  • 2 Peter 1:20-21
  • Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6
  • Proverbs 30:5

We believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God who was and is the Word made flesh to dwell among us. We believe His entire historical existence to be significant – including His conception, life of love and service, miracles and teachings, relationships, betrayals, disappointments, sufferings, death on a cross, and resurrection into new life. He is the atoning sacrifice for all sin and the only way by which one can be saved and made righteous before God. We also believe that Christ shall come again and all who believe will be made complete in him.

  • Mark
  • Luke
  • John
  • Philippians 2:5-11
  • Colossians 1:15-20

The Holy Spirit is the comforter, counselor, advocate, and presence of God within the hearts of believers. He is also the one who equips and empowers the believer to live a life of discipleship in this world. He is also the giver of gifts to the believer in order that the Body of Christ might be edified. In addition to the work done in the life of the believer, the Holy Spirit is given the responsibility for prompting conviction in the hearts of those who do not yet believe.

  • John 3:5-8
  • John 14:15-20
  • Romans 8:1-17

The Trinity is the fullness of God’s being which includes the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Mark 1:9-11
  • Matthew 28:16-20
  • 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, 13:13

Salvation is the beginning point and continual process of our eternal life relationship with God. Salvation is available to anyone who shall believe in their hearts and confess with their lips that Jesus is our Lord who lived a life among us, gave his life on a cross as an atoning sacrifice for our sins and then arose from the dead securing the victory over sin and death for all who believe. Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him.

  • 1 John 3:1-3
  • Romans 10:9
  • Philippians 1:6, 2:12-13
  • John 1:10-13, 3:16, 14:6

People are created in the image of God, but born sinful. Thus, we as humans are fallen, but God chose to give Jesus’s life as a sacrifice for all of us. Because of that sacrifice, we can choose to believe and receive His redemption and begin the lifelong discovery process of what it means to be created in His image. That discovery process is brought to completion when we see Christ face to face in glory.

  • Genesis 1:27
  • Genesis 3
  • Psalm 139
  • Romans 3:23, 6:23

In non-essential beliefs, we exercise the law of love (charity) and will seek to honor each other.

  • In essential beliefs we have UNITY. (Eph. 4:4-6)
  • In non-essential beliefs we have LIBERTY. (Rom. 14)
  • In all our beliefs, we show CHARITY. (1 Cor. 13:2)
